Coaching at QUB LHC

At Queen’s our objective is to ensure that each player in the Club has the opportunity to develop to her full potential and to enjoy her hockey. Every player will have the opportunity to play on the water-based or the new sand-dressed pitch at the Dub and to develop under the direction of qualified coaches. In the 20011-12 playing season QUB LHC will field three squads. The 1^st XI will again play in the Premier League, the 2^nd XI will play in Junior League 1 (following promotion) and the 3^rd XI will play in Junior League 8 (following promotion). This allows us to cater for 50-60 players of a wide range of ability.

Wednesday 8pm-10pm @ Upper Malone

1st XI: Water Based Pitch 7

2nd & 3rd XI: Sand Dressed Pitch 5

Coaching Staff

Head Coach, Simon Bell is an IHA Level 3 Coach who joined QUB LHC four years ago and previously coached Belfast Harlequins in the Premier League in Ulster. The current coaching team includes Carl Allen, Graham Quincey and Ian Campbell. QUB LHC has grown considerably over the last four years and with the re-developed facilities at the Dub opened in October 2011 and a strong coaching team in place, the Club has a lot to offer female hockey players who are studying at QUB.
